Elite Kilimanjaro is a US based company that enables people to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa. Elite Kilimanjaro strives to connect potential summiteers with experienced climbers and guides, only employing those who have reached the summit and have intimate knowledge of the various routes. Over 50,000 climbers flock to Kilimanjaro every year but an alarming 30-35% go home without reaching their goal. Elite Kilimanjaro is here to help get you to the top.
Elite Kilimanjaro was born out of an experience shared by Marcus and Amy Wirsig and several other friends. After talking about climbing Kilimanjaro for years, they finally decided to make the trek. They booked a trip with a travel company in the US, excited to make the pilgrimage to the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. However, once they reached Africa in January 2012, there was very clear lapses in communication. They had paid a US company to rent equipment from the Tanzanian company, but the terms of their rental weren’t communicated clearly. The Wirsig’s had to call the US company from Africa and have the issue sorted out. These types of distractions and annoyances are what you want to avoid on a vacation, particularly one where you are testing yourself physically. Despite these setbacks, they still reached the summit and had an amazing time.
While enjoying the remainder of their trip, the Wirsigs hatched a plan that would change their lives. Like so many entrepreneurs, they identified a problem and wanted to be the solution. Often times when you are dealing with international companies communication suffers. Questions aren’t always answered clearly, representatives aren’t always available, and details are scarce at best. Worse even still, once you have paid a large deposit, the time in-between responses gets even longer. Packages change, prices rise, and the overall experience is worsened. Marcus and Amy knew that they could offer a better service. They talked it over with a local guide and business leader, and with their blessing, Amy and Marcus returned to the states, eager to help others achieve their dream of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
What Elite Kilimanjaro offers is a personal touch and unbeatable customer service. To that end, they like to keep parties under 12 climbers. Smaller groups are more manageable and therefore safer, but also gives each participant a more intimate experience. Some outfits will combine groups to save money and cut corners, but Elite Kilimanjaro is different. Their Tanzanian staff all speak fluent english and share the Wirsig’s commitment to costumer service. Before you even land in Africa, you will know that you are being taken care of. You won’t be receiving automated replies from Elite Kilimanjaro — they answer every email personally. Elite Kilimanjaro is also personally invested in the communities surround the mountain. Marcus and Amy work with a local orphanage, the Shalom Orphanage in Karatu, Tanzania. They have taken food, supplies and toys to the children. They are looking into organizing charity climbs where climbers would get sponsorships for their efforts to reach the summit and the proceeds would go to the orphanage.
Elite Kilimanjaro has already helped many groups achieve their dreams. Your party can be next.
